An opportunity to explore the music of Ruth Gipps, composer and oboist, with a day on the fourth symphony under guest conductor Alice Farnham.
Dating from 1972 and firmly rooted in a conservative English style, the symphony is, along with the second Symphony, one of Gipps’ most performed symphonic works.
Applications are invited from players at Grade 8-plus with good sightreading (or the desire to improve sightreading skills!).
